Dear students,

I am a MFA student at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, department of media art, currently in Athens at the Danish Institute, to begin research on my MFA film project.

While I am in Athens I want to talk to different people who has a relationship to the city of Athens and was hoping that some of you would be interested in meeting up, perhaps your interested in some of the same themes, perhaps you have lived in the city long, perhaps you have thoughts on the issues I am investigating etc. 

Below is a short description on my project:

I have worked for several years with issues concerning place and memory. For this specific project I wish to investigate the relationship between memory and architecture. In regard to this I want to use the Piraeus building as a starting point for building up a narrative that deals with the mentioned above relation and that investigates the building, as mentioned also as a "monument" of both economic and political issues. The final product will be a montage of found footage/archival material and my own recordings combined with studio recordings and interviews.

I am interested to talk to people that is from Athens or has lived here. I am not looking only for specialist on this topic but also people who have a more personal relationship to the city and its architecture or perhaps has an opinion on the Piraeus tower or thoughts about urban voids and their meaning in connection to historic narratives and collective memory.

I am in Athens now for a week until the 26 of Feb.
